Peter’s Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) is looking to hire a Full Time Assistant Director.
Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
* *We are a family and child-centered program and follow the Katy ISD school calendar.
* The Assistant Director of St.
Peter’s Early Childhood Development Center reports directly to the Director and shall assist in the day-to-day operation of the center in accordance with the school policies and procedures, and the required licensing regulations both state and federal, and NAEYC accreditation.
These include but are not limited to the following duties.
Most of these are performed on a daily and monthly basis.
Specific Duties - These include but are not limited to the following: *Administration* * Coordinate daily staffing and allocation of substitute teachers.
* Assist in checking secured spaces and daily counts of all children and adults in the building.
* Offer support during registration and conduct facility tours for parents of prospective students in the absence of the Registrar.
* Keep an on-going inventory of consumables and books in the workroom.
* Ensure maintenance of the enrichment and curriculum materials including teacher supplies and PPEs.
* Request annual state inspections for fire marshal, health, and licensing including maintenance of logs and checklists.
* Attend monthly Age-Level Representative/Team Lead meeting.
* Attend Director meetings in his or her absence.
* Assist the office staff as needed and in the organization of personnel files.
*Program* * Assist in classrooms when needed including giving staff breaks.
* Create schedules per Director’s approval for teacher breaks, enrichments/Specials, outdoor play, and chapel.
* Assist and/or lead staff development and training.
* Observe in classrooms to adhere with state requirements and NAEYC’s standards.
* Review with the assistance of the Director or the Curriculum Coordinator, teacher lesson plans and materials, class schedule, routines, and its implementation.
* Review teacher’s parent-teacher correspondence and progress reports.
* Coordinate with the Director school-wide events and support Parent Council’s fundraising efforts.
*Children* * Perform nurse duties for injuries, fever, etc.
, and provide support to a child’s social and emotional disposition when necessary.
* Participate in observations and screening tool completion or data collection.
*Parents* * Participate in parent meetings in the absence of the Director.
* Make administrative decisions in the absence of the Director following communication protocols in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures, licensing regulations, and guidance from the NAEYC code of professional ethics.
*Substitute* * Participate in interviewing candidates and maintain a current substitute list.
* Conduct screenings and background checks for substitute teachers including new staff orientation.
* Create professional development plan and track training hours.
* Conduct monthly substitute teacher meetings.
*Equipment and Building* * Report pests and maintenance repair to facilities team.
* Ensure daily playground inspection and maintain safety logs.

* Coordinate room reservation for school’s needs *NAEYC and Licensing* * Be familiar with the NAEYC standards and assist in maintaining standards.
* Assist in preparing and maintaining NAEYC program and classroom portfolios.
* Be familiar with the Texas Minimum Standards for Childcare Centers, fire code and health standards.
* Update state representatives and local agencies contact information.
*The Creative Curriculum and Chapel* * Be familiar with the Creative Curriculum and resources, curriculum framework and assessment (GOLD).
* Facilitate with preparation and keeping a welcoming and responsive classroom.
* Coach and model developmentally appropriate practices using the TOT model.
* Lead or assist the Director with chapel activities as needed.
*Qualifications:* The candidate selected for this position is required to have a minimum of at least two (2) years of both administration and classroom experience in a licensed childcare facility.
A candidate with a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development Associate (CDA), an associate of applied science degree in child development or closely related field pertaining to the growth, development, physical or mental care, or education of children ages birth through age 8 is desired.
A general bachelor’s degree with a combination of college credit hours in child development and management will be considered.
In addition, a director certificate, TECPDS or trainer certification, experience in NAEYC accreditation and/or grant writing is highly preferred.
This person must be in good health and be able to stand, walk, move quickly, and get down to the floor.
This person must be a sensitive and mature individual who is able to relate well to children and adults and must be willing to adhere to the school's educational philosophy.
In addition, this person must be able to meet the requirements of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $45,000.
00 - $48,000.
