About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 14 About the Role: Energy Software Innovation & Product The Team: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Executive Director for our high-tech geoscience and engineering energy software solutions business.
As the Executive Director, you will be responsible for leading our organization in developing and delivering next-generation software solutions that leverage new technologies in the areas of web delivery, predictive analytics, AI/ML, and data management.
Through your leadership and expertise, you will drive innovation and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our software business.
Responsibilities and Impact: Product Management, Strategy and Vision : Lead PM team to develop and execute a strategic roadmap for our software solutions, focusing on innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) and web-based applications.
Identify emerging trends in the oil and gas industry and broader energy sector and align our software solutions to adapt to evolving customer needs.
Leadership and Team Management : Lead a cross-functional team of professionals, including geoscientist, geologist, software engineers, product managers, data scientists, and sales representatives, in the successful development and implementation of new technology-driven solutions.
Encourage a culture of continuous learning, innovation, collaboration, and professionalism within the team.
Set clear goals and objectives, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and mentoring to ensure the team's success.
Business Development and Customer Engagement : Collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to identify market opportunities, expand customer base, and strengthen our position in the industry.
Nurture and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their unique needs and ensuring our software solutions exceed their expectations.
Lead strategic discussions with customers to identify new product offerings and enhancements that align with their business objectives.
Business Management: Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage budgets for software development projects, ensuring financial objectives are met.
Monitor and analyze key financial and customer indicators to measure the success and profitability of our software solutions.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficient resource allocation to optimize performance .
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $240,000.
Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.

What We’re Looking For: • Proven experience (at least 10 years) in executive or leadership roles within software solutions and preferably in the oil & gas sector.
• In-depth knowledge of new technologies and emerging trends driving the software industry.
• Demonstrated track record of leading teams in successful product development and launch.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, fostering a collaborative and results- oriented work environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, internal stakeholders, and team members effectively.
• Strong business acumen and experience in developing and executing strategic business plans.
• Proven ability to drive innovation and adapt to emerging market trends.
• Understanding of financial management principles and experience in managing businesses effectively.
