The Weng Lab (https://weng.
hmailabs.
org/) is at the forefront of studying molecular mechanisms that underpin how different RNA modifications regulate endogenous RNA immunogenicity.
Our investigations delve into how the deficiencies in RNA modifications can potentially induce an immunogenic transcriptome, subsequently triggering inflammatory responses and even cellular death.
Specifically, our research aims to elucidate how Adenosine-to-Inosine (A-to-I) and N6-Methyladenosine (m6A) modifications work in unison to suppress endogenous RNA immunogenicity across various RNA classes.
Utilizing tools such as genetic engineering, next-generation sequencing, and biochemical approaches, we seek to uncover the checkpoints of RNA modifications in inflammation regulation.
The ultimate objective of our research is to leverage these findings to shed light on other inflammatory diseases, including autoimmune diseases, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer's disease, and other neurodegenerative disorders.
We are currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic Research assistant/technician with a strong background in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, genomics, immunology, or a related field to join our team.
Applicants with hands-on experience on general molecular biology, animal work or programing are especially encouraged to apply.
Our lab is deeply committed to the mentorship and long-term career success of all our members.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to acquire a broad and adaptable range of skills tailored to their specific research interests and career trajectories.
