PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Certified Pharmacy Technician, under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, is responsible for assisting in the operations of the pharmacy, including performing clerical duties related to the operation of a pharmacy; regulatory compliance and performing other related duties as assigned.
MUST BE EXPERIENCED AND CERTIFIED AS A STERILE COMPOUNDING TECHNICIAN
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare for batch production and compound sterile and non-sterile drug products according to written drug production records.
Clean and maintain cleanroom facility and non-sterile compounding laboratory according to standard operating procedures.
Perform environmental monitoring of the cleanroom facility according to standard operating procedures.
Receive, test, and input incoming bulk drug substances into the pharmacy management system.
Pull outdated, damaged, and recalled inventory and prepare for return.
Report all deviations to supervising pharmacist and/or quality department.
Answer inbound calls and respond to questions and/or doctor and clinic requests.
Maintain proper storage conditions for drugs.
Assist in order fulfillment.
Clean and help maintain equipment and sterilize glassware, according to standard operating procedures.
Provide excellent customer service to all customers and medical professionals via phone or in person.
Maintains pharmacy records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Comply with all company procedures and federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
Perform any task assigned by direct supervisor for facility maintenance and/or production of a quality drug product.
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or Equivalent
A minimum of one year of pharmacy experience preferred
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
CPhT Required
State licensure required or able to obtain within timeframe of state requirements
Maintenance of continuing education credits
Sterile (IV) Certification
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS
High-risk sterile compounding experience preferred
Professional demeanor and courteous attitude
Knowledge of basic computer operations
General knowledge of pharmacy laws, practices and procedures
Knowledge of common drug terminology, medical terms/abbreviations and pharmacy calculations
Possess a professional appearance and excellent interpersonal communication skills
Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Able to define challenges and problems and proactively resolve independently
Oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well with various personalities and within a team
Excellent attendance and punctuality records
