Position Description
The CSO Assistant will support the operations of the Department by providing assistance in the completion of duties that do not require CSO Certification.
Duties and Responsibilities: Greet clients in a courteous manner.
Assist customers with checking in and questions.
Operates computer systems used to check in clients.
Interacts with clients to resolve low level problems encountered by clients whose officers are unavailable for any reason, including completion of field visits.
Performs case work which does not require CSO certification.
Provides triage duty to ensure that clients with difficult problems are seen by appropriate staff.
Exercised privileged communication as related to the position and maintains expertise in the operations, functions, and scope of the department.
Testifies in Court, when required, as to the procedures followed while performing any assigned duty.
Reviews information in Case Management System (CMS).
Maintains and updates information into the Program Database.
Works overtime as required.
Nonessential Functions: Performs other related duties as assigned.
Contributes to and helps create a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a cooperative and amicable manner with supervisors, coworkers, subordinates, and members of the public.

net Requirements Education and Experience: Two (2) years of education at an institution of Higher Learning (Minimum 48 hours semester credit or equivalent at Community College or University) OR Two (2) years of substantive work experience in the criminal justice industry (must demonstrate experience in application of case management principals) OR Six (6) months of employment with a Texas Community Supervision and Corrections Department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Able to lift heavy files, up to 25-30 pounds.
Thorough knowledge of current office practices and procedures.
Good working knowledge of current computer functions and procedures.
Must have good oral and written communication skills.
Must be eligible for access to TCIC system.
Licensure: Valid Texas Drivers’ License.
