JOB BRIEF
Under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager, the Inventory DAX Clerk is responsible for the store inventory integrity for all non perishable items.
This position provides inventory visibility to support the business and operational needs in accordance with the company’s standard operating procedures.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS: The Inventory DAX Clerk begins the day by reporting to the Operations Manager for direction.
The manager will assign a vendor or product cycle to be counted that day.
A cycle is a grouping of items that is either divided by product or by vendor.
The Inventory DAX Clerk will then take the appropriate documentation and scan gun and head toward the designated area or product to be counted.
The product or vendor line may necessitate counting in the warehouse storage area and at other storage locations within the store, other than shelving, to ensure an accurate count.
Once a section is completed the Inventory DAX Clerk will move on to the next assigned area.
A cycle may average 1700 items.
Each cycle must be completed the designated day as another cycle will be scheduled for the subsequent day.
The Inventory DAX Clerk may assist the Operations Manager with purchase orders and other paperwork in the office.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Checks smart count inventory report to ensure it is closed at 100%.
• Checks scan gun for smart counts for the day.
• Checks in Retalix for the purchase orders for the day.
Prints the purchase orders and give them to the receiver.
• Checks in daily with vendors to ensure delivery according to the schedule.
• Conducts cycle counts daily as recommended before the order is finalized.
• Reviews the negative inventory report (Artus) daily, and performs cycle counts.
• Assists the Operations Manager ensuring all purchase orders are finalized and closed before 5pm.
• Communicates with vendors, Inventory Control Team and Store Management on any issues with product, inventory or deliveries.
• Adjusts inventory quantities in the RF adjust icon according to the available codes.

• Adheres to all company and grocery store operation standards, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE/LICENSE REQUIRED: Experience • year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the grocery business.
• Inventory control experience preferred.
• DAX knowledge preferred.
• Basic MS knowledge preferred.
Preferred Field of Expertise • Ability to read, write, apply common sense, and comprehend detailed and involved written or oral instructions.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: 100% indoors: inside of the market.
The office area is temperate and similar to the store temperature.
The temperatures in the departments will vary.
The temperature of the storage areas will vary dependent upon the outdoor temperature.
