Duties: The Head Pool Cashier is responsible for operating the cash register and assisting with the collection of all pool entry fees on a daily basis as well as serving the general public.
As well as overseeing the pool cashiers.
The Head Pool Cashier position is a seasonal position with the City of Pasadena Parks & Recreation Department.
This position is responsible for accepting and reporting any revenue generated by the pools ran by the City of Pasadena.
The Head Pool cashier is responsible for operating the cash register and assisting with the collection of all pool entry fees on a daily basis.
The Head Pool Cashier will serve as the primary customer service representative and will assist the general public.
In addition to overseeing the pool cashiers at their assigned location.
This position requires in-depth communication and customer service skills.
Employee will provide knowledgeable and friendly customer service to all customers (internal & external).
Greets customers and processes cash and credit card transactions.
Answer customer inquiries.
Assists Manager and Assistant Manager with opening and closing procedures.
Cleans register, counter tops, display shelves, tables, etc.
at assigned station.
Handles any questions or concerns customers may have and directs to appropriate staff member, if unable to answer or satisfy customer/patron.
Responsible for supplies needed to perform duties at assigned station.
Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to City of Pasadena and Departmental policies.
Must work effectively and efficiently, tactfully, and pleasantly with co-workers and the general public.
Actively participate in daily tasks, serving as a positive role model for staff and participants at all times.
Shall perform all other related duties as assigned.
Discipline: First understand the City of Pasadena's Corrective Action Method: Provide coaching to help employees understand their job requirements and tools to help employees meet their job expectations.
Document all actions of the employee and of yourself as the pool manager to maintain accurate records of every account when dealing with discipline.
Follow the city's guidelines of Coaching, Performance Counseling, Informal Reminders, Formal Reminders, Performance Improvement Plans, and if all else fails Termination policies.
Documentation: Keep files, reports, employee time sheets, chemical-log sheets, daily checklist, in-service sign-in sheets, etc.
completed and organized.
Be thorough with all documents and ensure they are completed and filed so easily accessible for Aquatics Manager & Asst.
Manager.
Required Work Days/Times/Hours: Head Cashiers hours will vary weekly depending on which pool they work at.
Head Cashiers may be scheduled to work as early as 5 a.
m.
and as late as 10 p.
m.
Managers may be asked to cover shifts at other City of Pasadena pools Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements.
Works the assigned schedule and complies with the City's timekeeping and attendance policy.
Adheres to the City's cash handling policies Qualifications: N/A.
