Houston, TX, US Posted On: 01/23/2024 Employment Type: Full Time Job Class: Information & Tech Job Summary Responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Business Internet) and voice communications systems.
Assists in continuous improvement efforts of existing solutions and provide support and expertise to the implementation of new solutions.
Serve as an escalation point for the help desk and desktop support team as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities Support business critical functions by achieving the highest possible availability of infrastructure at all times Provide top tier first-class customer service Provide both operational and project support within IT in order to achieve departmental and business goals Responsible for day-to-day monitoring and support of the corporate computing network Responsible for monitoring and support of corporate firewalls Administer and maintain enterprise NAC solution Maintain network monitoring solutions Support required infrastructure changes during and after normal business hours as needed Support audio visual and collaboration solutions Troubleshoot and resolve network related incidents Work with other IT teams to implement projects as needed in a timely manner This position will provide On-Call and Emergency Response duties to business-critical applications, help desk support, and associated infrastructure as necessary Adhere to all IT policies Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualification/Work Experience Minimum Required: Associate degree in computer or electronics related field of study preferred Minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting computer and network systems Network certification (CCNA/JNCIA or greater) Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge in connecting WAN technologies (T-1, Metro Ethernet, MPLS, microwave) Knowledge of networking protocols and IP subnetting Knowledge of routing protocols (e.
g.
OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, BGP) Specific knowledge of network operating systems (e.
g.
IOS, NX-OS, FTD, JunOS, PanOS) Experience in the installation, configuration, and support of network switches, routers, and wireless APs Experience in the configuration and support of firewalls and network security devices (e.
g.
VPN, IPS, Web/URL filtering) Experience in the configuration and support of collaboration solutions (e.
g.
CUCM, Webex, Zoom, MS Teams) Experience with A/V integration and programming Familiarity with cloud-based IaaS solutions (e.
g.
AWS, Azure, GCP) Experience with network monitoring and logging solutions (e.
g.
Solarwinds, PRTG, Nagios, Elastic, Graylog, Splunk, etc) Familiarity with server operating systems (e.
g.

Actively participate in the HSE Management System Policies.
Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility.
Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
Working Conditions and Physical Expectations Environmental/Working Conditions: Operates in a professional office environment within or outside of an industrial plant environment.
Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and filing cabinets.
Physical Expectations: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.
