Aegis Aerospace is currently looking for a Electrical Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas.
The ideal candidate will design and upgrade electrical and electronic circuits and systems, including embedded systems, and associated project engineering duties.
The technical work includes creating board layouts and embedded system designs and overseeing their manufacturing, testing, integration, and troubleshooting.
The project engineering work includes developing, managing, and maintaining project budgets and schedules, and interfacing with customers.
Includes, but is not limited to, spaceflight hardware and/or associated ground support equipment.

Are you ready to Innovate, Explore, and Protect? Responsibilities: •Design circuits and systems for use in spaceflight equipment, including designing and/or programming embedded systems, with limited supervision or oversight • Assist MISSE customers and PIs to ensure that their active experiments/payloads meet ISS and MISSE requirements, are delivered on time, can be integrated as planned, and will function as planned on-orbit.
This includes working closely with our integration engineer(s) and designers.
• Design electronics and software to interface with customer active experiments/payloads and assist with their integration and testing.
• Responsible for MISSE avionics – design, upgrades, maintenance, and performance, including understanding and troubleshooting legacy MISSE systems.
• Assist with safety reviews and other verification activities • Write software code as required • Produce “build packages” for vendor quotes and production, e.
g.
bill-or-materials, fabrication drawings, component lists, etc.
• Hands-on work such as assembling and testing flight hardware and/or ground support equipment.
• Plan and/or support environmental testing of spaceflight hardware • Review electrical/embedded circuit/system designs created by others and offer constructive feedback • Present electrical/embedded circuit /system designs for review and accept constructive feedback • Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules • Work with vendors/suppliers on component selection, manufacturing, etc.
• Support on-orbit operations, manufacturing, assembly, and testing • Stay current on electronic and circuit design technologies and best practices • Required to have the visual acuity to perform activities such as: operating machines and tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and meters where the job is at or within arm's reach • Must be able to position body to perform the required assembly of equipment and electrical hardware • Constantly operates a computer and other productivity machinery Teamwork • Clear and concise reporting of assigned work tasks and initiatives.
• Communicate daily activities with other team members • Extended work schedule may be required • Some travel may required • Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Creative designer with excellent analytical and design skills Current knowledge of the state of electrical component and embedded system design and use Familiar with the effects of spaceflight on electrical components; able to correctly select components for spaceflight use.
Self-motivated, focused on delivering excellent products on time and on budget Proven ability to work autonomously, with a minimum of supervision, and also excel as part of a team Proficient in EAGLE or similar circuit design software Proficient in basic or advanced project management tools Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Experience with C, C++, and other common programming languages Experience with analog instruments a plus Strong time management and organizational skills Dependable and accountable, and able to work effectively in a dynamic environment Requires excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communications skills Experience outside of the space industry a plus (in addition to space industry experience) About Aegis Aerospace We are a woman-owned space and technology company headquartered in Houston, TX.
