The Natural Resources Project Manager is accountable for project deliverables from conception through to completion, including quality assurance, risk assessment, milestone deliverables, forecasting, and overall scope, schedule, and budget.
The Natural Resources Project Manager will have direct communication with the client and be responsible for meeting client expectations.
In addition, your role will be to: Set and maintain project scopes, schedules and budgets, including project financial forecasting; makes decisions with respect to overall technical execution of the project.
Liaise with technical specialists or other senior project managers to ensure the technical integrity of the project.
Manage staff engaged in project reporting and field work, particularly related to construction compliance scopes.
Confirm findings and preparation and/or review of technical reports.
Supervision and mentorship of junior professional staff involved in carrying out field programs, ensuring project requirements are communicated and health and safety protocols are adhered to.
Actively promote Health and Safety programs and culture.
Involved in business development activities and maintaining client relationships.
Participates in the preparation of proposals and cost estimates.
Participates in short- and long-range planning.
Completes field surveys, inspections, and prepare reports as needed.
Qualifications: Diploma or Degree from a program in Biology, Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or related discipline.
Minimum of 8 years of environmental consulting experience with progressive experience encompassing project planning, coordinating and project management with emphasis in the areas of Natural Resources.
Professional experience working on transmission infrastructure projects.
Experience in delivering projects on time and within budget that met client technical and quality expectations.
Demonstrated project management and execution success on environmental compliance projects including implementation of work plans, setting budgets, and developing project schedules as well as proven experience in leading teams of technical specialists to develop sustainable environmental solutions with clients.
Knowledge of Wetland and Waterbody Determinations and Delineations pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act (RHA).
Knowledge of U.
S.
Army Corps of Engineers General and Standard Permits.
Knowledge of Wetland and Stream Functional Assessments and Mitigation Plan Development and Design Knowledge of Endangered Species Habitat and Biological Assessments.
Knowledge of Natural and Cultural Resource Federal and State Agencies Consultation Requirements.
Knowledge of Statues including CWA, RHA, NEPA, NHPA, ESA, MBTA, amongst others.
Knowledge of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Assessments and Documentation (Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements).
Knowledge of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans.
Experience with and understanding of different project management methodologies.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment, including working with colleagues in different geographic regions.
Self-motivated, high energy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage time and multiple projects appropriately.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Capable of understanding and appropriately applying prescribed safety and technical protocols Regulatory familiarity with construction compliance scope preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or Wetland Professional In Training (WPIT) Certification preferred.
