Position Overview
The Global Tax Manager is an integral part of the Global Controller Group and will have responsibility for managing all aspects of tax and legal entity reporting.
This position will lead the tax function including the tax provision process, federal income tax planning and compliance, managing sales and use tax reporting and compliance, as well as national and international tax planning projects.
Responsibilities
Review and supervise the preparation of year end Consolidated U.
S.
Federal and state tax provisions, including US GAAP disclosures when applicable
Run the tax close process, providing quality control over ASC 740 calculations and coordinating with external financial statement auditors as required
Review of all U.
S.
Federal and state income tax compliances for affiliated entities
Participate in management of International, US federal, state and local tax audits, including inquiries and notices
Maintain current awareness of financial reporting guidelines and advise on pending tax accounting and regulatory pronouncements that could impact company operations
Identify opportunities for tax planning which may impact International, US Federal and state tax filing positions, apportionment, state tax provisions, etc.

Federal and state tax impacts of new transactions
Manage Transfer Pricing functions, including liaise with outside firm to prepare documentation and reports for the U.
S.
and various foreign jurisdictions; compute service cross-charges, quarterly
Support Treasury department to manage global cash balances, providing data intercompany payable balances support
Prepare withholding tax exemption documentation for various tax jurisdictions, as necessary
Partner with business unit leaders, accounting department, finance team, legal department, human resources department and others in the organization on tax related matters and their potential impact as required
Manage process of reporting and compliance of indirect taxes including sales, property and certain business gross receipts tax returns including the review of tax return filings and oversight of all audits in these areas
Required Skillsets
This position requires 1-2 days per week in office.
The individual must live within commuting range of either the Stamford, CT or Houston, TX office
10-15 years of related experience
5-7 years of Big 4 public firm experience; additional years of industry preferred
Collaborative team player with a hands-on approach; a roll-up-the-sleeves mentality
Strong track record of success in driving execution and delivering business results
Solid analytical and quantitative skills, as well as verbal, written and communication skills
Knowledge of payroll tax laws also beneficial
Experience with international tax structures required
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Masters Degree in Tax preferred
CPA required
