Sign Shop Coordinator General Summary: Under general supervision, performing high level skills in designing and fabricating signs, decals, labels, and various communication media.
Manages tools, equipment, materials, and various supplies supporting the day-to-day operations of the Sign Shop.
Duties and Responsibilities: Performs high level skill in sign maintenance including design, fabrication, & installation.
Accurately document all work performed on the designated Work Order Management System.
This includes logging details of each print job, specifying machine settings, materials used, and any troubleshooting or maintenance activities undertaken.
Designs and fabricates traffic signs according to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control, the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, and the Federal and Texas Standard Highway Signs regulations.
Determines appropriate signage for application in the field.
Designs and fabricates various signs, decals, stickers, and banners for various county events and promotions, vehicle logos, lettering and numbers for county vehicles, decals for facilities and vehicles, and/or other related items.
Operate and maintain Sign Shop equipment, including printers, copiers, and other various equipment; ensure the proper setup and calibration of all equipment; monitor print jobs to ensure quality and efficiency.
Maintain inventory of printing supplies, including vinyl, ink, metal, and other consumables; order and restock supplies as needed; keep the storage area organized and maintain accurate inventory records.
Interact with requesters to understand their requests and specifications.
Provide assistance and printing options and solutions.
Collaborate with Communications Department on final design products.
Perform any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned.

Required to work outdoors on varied and often unstable terrain involving exposure to varying weather conditions of extreme hot and cold temperatures.
Some working conditions require special precautions and the use of protective gear (e.
g.
, hard hats, respirator masks, gloves, etc.
).
Essential functions involve significant physical demands related to repeated lifting of up to 50 pounds unassisted, 100 pounds with assistance rarely; carrying tools, materials, and equipment over rough terrain; climbing, reaching and bending.
Frequently required to walk, sit, talk, drive, hear, bend, stoop, twist, and balance; need the ability to occasionally kneel and crawl; need the ability to grasp manual controls and the ability to use foot controls and operate gas, diesel, and electrically powered equipment.
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
